SEO case study: ajukerala.com How I rebuilt my own website for Google, step by step

Before I offer SEO to anyone, I wanted to do it on my own site first. This is exactly what I changed on ajukerala.com in late October 2026, and what happened in the first few days.

Last updated: November 2026 by Muhammed Ajmal P

The short version

  • ProjectMy own website, ajukerala.com: laptop repair and digital marketing in Dubai and Sharjah
  • TimeAbout 5 days, from 30 October to 3 November 2026
  • Main workSite structure, page content, technical SEO, schema, Google and Bing setup
  • First resultsPageSpeed SEO score 100, Desktop performance 99, and the site at #1 on Google for its own name within 2 days

The starting point

The old site looked fine, but Google could not do much with it.

  • The Digital Marketing page had about 58 words and never mentioned Dubai.
  • The repair page did not use the words people search for, like “motherboard repair Dubai”.
  • No schema (the code that tells Google what a page is about) and no Google Analytics.
  • Searching the brand name showed other people, not my site.

What I changed

The same steps I would take on a client’s website.

  1. Keyword researchUsed Google Keyword Planner to pick one main keyword per page, like “digital marketer in Dubai” and “motherboard repair Dubai”.
  2. One page per serviceSplit the site into clear service pages, each with its own address, title, description and main heading.
  3. ContentRewrote thin pages into 430 to 1,030 words each, in plain language, with real FAQs customers ask.
  4. Technical SEOSitemap, robots.txt, canonical tags, https and non-www redirects, a 404 page, image compression and noindex on thin pages.
  5. SchemaAdded business, FAQ, breadcrumb, person and website schema so Google and AI tools understand each page.
  6. Google and BingSet up Search Console, submitted the sitemap, requested indexing, and created Google Business Profile and Bing Places listings.

Google search

#1 for the brand name

Two days after the new site went live, ajukerala.com showed as the first result on Google for “ajukerala”, with the new page title.

Rich Results Test

Valid structured data

Google’s Rich Results Test crawled the main service page successfully, with valid structured data and no errors.

PageSpeed

Fast on phones

Mobile performance went from 82 to 84 after making the main image load first. Desktop scores 99.

What I learned

Structure comes before content. When every page had its own address, keyword and heading, Google could finally tell what each page was for.

Small technical fixes add up: a missing space in a heading, an old title saved in Google, or a phone loading an old style file can all hide good work.

SEO takes time. Ranking for competitive words like “digital marketer in Dubai” usually takes 3 to 6 months. I will update this page with real numbers from Search Console as they come in.
