Game consoles have boards just like laptops: power circuits, HDMI chips and controllers. When one of these fails, many shops replace the whole board. I use the same chip-level skills I use on laptops to find the faulty part and fix it.

Gets hot and switches off, or the fan is very loud. Cleaning, new thermal paste and a fan check.
Disc and drive problems
Won’t read or eject discs. I check the drive and the parts around it.
Liquid damage
Something spilled on it? Switch it off and bring it quickly, before corrosion spreads.
Charging and port problems
Switch not charging or a controller port not working. I check the port and the charging circuit.

Usually, yes. No signal is often a damaged HDMI port or the HDMI chip on the board. I check both and replace what’s faulty.
